Child Life Program

Creating a child-friendly healing environment to minimize fears, encourage normalization and promote optimal development, as a way to help each child and their family navigate the hospital experience.

Utilizing knowledge of family systems and child development, the child life specialist provides patients and families intervention through therapeutic play, medical education, procedural preparation and distraction, and encourages coping strategies as a means to guide and empower, specific to each child's developmental background and culture.
