Job Details | * Assists in orientation of new staff of other professional disciplines, as requested. * Maintains statistical records required by the grant sources or regulatory agencies. * Maintains case file for every client served under the program. * Documents in the medical record according to Departmental policy & procedures. * Understands and agrees that work assignments and time schedules are changeable within the scope of services and as per the need of the Program. * Performs all other duties as required. * Provides crisis counseling, short term counseling and supportive services to survivors of intimate partner violence, sexual violence, and other violent crimes. * Complete intake and assessments for new program clients. * Learn about new developments in the field through professional literature, trainings and in- services. * Assist in monitoring NYSDOH Rape Crisis Advocates component. * Participates in Project Envision, a sexual prevention initiative in which the program participates focusing in the Williamsburg, Brooklyn area. * Provides client advocacy, accompaniment to ED or outside agencies, OVS compensation application, referrals & follow ups in order to provide services in a comprehensive manner. * Assists in community outreach activities including workshops/trainings/promotional events, health fairs and community fairs. * Demonstrates effective written and verbal communication skills. * Uses the technology appropriately in the improvement of systems and work process. * Maintains understanding of needs, expectations and requirements of the program. * Utilizes time effectively in managing organizational priorities. Position Requirements: * This position requires a minimum formal education of Bachelor's Degree and a minimum of 1 year job-related experience. * Desired (not required) criteria include: Bilingual skills (Spanish speaking). Strong interpersonal, team-playing and coordination skills. * Expertise in delivering timebound, evidence-based counseling approaches. * Baccalaureate degree in social/human sciences from accredited College or University is preferred. * Knowledge and work experience on family violence. |
